Background

I was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie, ON on traditional Anishinaabe lands under the Robinson-Huron Treat. In 2021, I became a frequent visitor of Inuit Nunangut/Nunavut, where I chose to permanently settle in 2023 in the Qikiqtaaluk region of Baffin Island learning from the Inuit and working in support of our community health.

Education

Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Laurentian University.

Career

I started my career in the beautiful rural community of Wawa, ON providing emergency, acute and long-term care to clients. I have since supported many rural and remote health centres throughout Ontario through the COVID pandemic, then transitioned those skills to support the Qikiqtaaluk region. I currently take pride in planning public health initiatives and overseeing health programs in support of our current community.

Interests

I am deeply interested in the relationship between peoples and their environments, from hiking and travelling, to understand the relationship between the health of our planet and it’s impacts on the health of our peoples.
