In this workshop, participants will apply foundational knowledge about antiracism, equity, diversity, inclusion, and justice to propose actions they can take individually and collectively to address health inequities and prevent harm within healthcare. Strategies for engaging in health equity and DEIJ-focused work in organizations or geographic areas that limit language and actions related to DEI will be discussed. Participants will explore strategies to support colleagues in understanding the impact of health inequities and the need for equity-minded nursing.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:
1. Discuss how to navigate the path to health equity in the context of state laws prohibiting some forms of DEI work and language.
2. Examine resources that can be leveraged to move DEI and health equity work forward.
3. Describe communication strategies that can be used to facilitate an understanding of health inequities and the need for equity-minded nursing practice.
1 hour of Nursing Continuing Education (CE) credit will be offered to participants who complete an evaluation and receive at least 80% on post-test.
