Description
Betsy will share her study which, investigated the phenomenon by which nature attachments, formed in moments of quiet attunement in childhood, impact adult decision-making behaviours in relation to the other-than-human world.
Speaker
Dr. Elizabeth (Betsy) Jardine, Ph.D., is an Adjunct Faculty at Cape Breton University. Her work in the First Nations Community of We’koqma’q led to her research interest in ecological identity. Betsy has worked in Nova Scotia, Canada, with the Strait Regional Centre of Excellence as a teacher, Reading Recovery Specialist, and Board Mentor for play and inquiry learning. She assisted with developing the Whycocomagh Eco-Centre and hosted two conferences on ecological identity.
