Seniors from throughout the country are mobilizing for climate action on Canada’s National Seniors Day and the International Day of Older Persons, October 1.
Their intention is to “demonstrate our growing concern about climate breakdown and our desire to rebuild a healthy environment for future generations.”
If you are a senior who cares about the climate emergency or knows someone who is, this is a wonderful opportunity to get together with like-minded elders to stand up for what you believe in.
The Seniors for Climate goal is to build a cross-Canada community of seniors to create a livable future. They recognize that seniors have outsized political, economic and social power and can play a major role in the climate movement.
So far, more than 50 events are being planned for October 1 and that number continues to grow. Check out this map of events to see if something is planned where you live.
