Different toxins and pollution, both indoors and outdoors, can affect our health. Chemicals are found everywhere in our air, water, soil, foods we eat, and everyday products we use. Some substances are known to be toxic, which means they can harm a person’s health. Pollution happens when harmful substances contaminate or dirty our environment.

These substances can be waste, chemicals, or energy like heat or sound. They can be harmful to a person’s health. Questions in this part of the PeriPHAT tool are here to help you and your family reduce exposure to different toxins and pollutants.
